Social media managementWhat a content calendar solves
A social media content calendar shows in advance what goes out on which platform and on which day. Its real value is consistency: posting every day one week and going silent the next is what usually happens without one.
| Spreadsheet | This panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Plan skeleton | Filled in row by row | Distributed automatically from your content mix |
| Time | Written down by guesswork | Sector default or your own measurements |
| Publishing | By hand every day | Sent to the connected account when due |
| Views | One flat sheet | Month, week or list; filter by platform and status |
| Spotting gaps | Searched for by eye | Number of upcoming empty days shown |
The monthly plan starts from a content mix
You start the plan with numbers: how many images, carousels, Stories, Reels, UGC videos and long videos you want this month. The wizard spreads them across days and the posting times that suit your sector.
These are the wizard's starting values; you can change each one. Long video defaults to zero.
- 1Build the plan
Set the mix; the plan summary and month preview update on the right as you go.
- 2Review and approve
Each day's topic, format, time and suggested platform are listed.
- 3Generate
Generate content for each slot one by one or in bulk, and regenerate what you do not like.
- 4Save to calendar
Approved posts are written to the calendar as scheduled posts.
- Topic types are balanced: promotion, launch, education, story, testimonial, corporate and event, among others.
- For an ecommerce brand with a product list, products are attached to slots.
- Story slots go to Instagram; video slots go to TikTok and Instagram for ecommerce, Instagram and LinkedIn otherwise.
- The wizard also flags gaps: no Stories, fewer than three Reels a week or no carousels each get a note.
What happens when the plan exceeds your quota
Each format has its own quota. Images and carousels draw from the image quota, Reels and long videos from the video quota; Stories and UGC have their own. When one format goes over, the wizard tells you how far to cut it.
| Plan | Images | Stories | Videos | UGC videos |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 12 | 10 | 1 | 1 |
| Pro | 20 | 20 | 3 | 2 |
| Enterprise | 100 | 100 | 15 | 15 |
Quotas are read from the plan definitions. Current prices and all plans are on the pricing page.
How holidays and special days enter the plan
The plan checks a defined list of special days. A slot that falls on one of them switches to celebration content and its title carries the day's name.
- The list covers Turkey's fixed-date national days: 23 April, 1 May, 19 May, 15 July, 30 August, 29 October and New Year.
- Mother's Day, Father's Day and Black Friday are on the list too; the Black Friday slot is marked as campaign content.
- How far ahead to start preparing is covered in a three-week countdown for seasonal campaigns.
The calendar screen measures the month's health
The screen answers one question: what is going out this month, where are the gaps and what failed? Switch between month, week and list views and filter by platform or status.
| Posts in the week | Label |
|---|---|
| 0 | Empty |
| 1-2 | Low |
| 3-5 | Balanced |
| 6 or more | High |
The thresholds are fixed, so one month can be compared with another.
- Upcoming coverage: how many days from today to month end have no content.
- Week-to-week balance: whether posts are spread evenly across weeks.
- Content purpose balance: whether promotion, education and engagement content pile up in one bucket.
- Publishing success: how many scheduled posts actually went out.
How a scheduled post goes live
- 1Scheduled
The post is written to the calendar with date, time and platforms.
- 2Approval
If sign-off is needed, the post is approved, rejected or moved to a new time.
- 3Time check
The publishing job looks for due posts every five minutes and sends them to connected accounts.
- 4Result
If every platform succeeds it is published; if one fails it is marked failed with the reason.
- Posts go to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn, using each connected account's token.
- Because the check runs every five minutes, a post can go out a few minutes after its scheduled time.
- To share without waiting, publish instantly from Instagram management.
- X, Threads and Pinterest connections are not available yet, so they cannot be publishing targets.
- With no connected account, a post never quietly shows as published; it fails with a missing-token reason.
- If something unexpected happens, one button pauses every scheduled post for the brand; posts stay on the calendar and nothing is deleted. When you resume, posts whose time passed in the meantime don't go out on their own; they come back to you for approval first.
- Turn on the UTM switch and only links to your own site get platform, medium and campaign tags at publish time; the text saved on the calendar doesn't change.
Frequently asked questions
How do I build a content calendar?
First decide how many of each format you want this month. The wizard spreads that mix across days and sector posting times and suggests a topic and platform for each slot. You review and approve the plan.
Which platforms can the calendar publish to?
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn. X, Threads and Pinterest connections are not available yet.
Do posts publish on their own at the scheduled time?
Yes. The publishing job checks for due posts every five minutes and sends them to your connected accounts. If something fails, the post is marked failed with the reason.
Are holidays added automatically?
Fixed-date national days, Mother's and Father's Day, Black Friday and New Year are on the list. Ramadan and Eid al-Adha move every year, so add those yourself.
What if I plan more than my plan's quota?
The wizard shows which format is over and how far to cut it. Images and carousels share one quota; Reels and long videos share the video quota.
How is the calendar health score calculated?
From upcoming coverage, week-to-week balance, content purpose balance and publishing success. A component that cannot be measured drops out and is listed by name.
Why can't I see a best time yet?
The best time only appears after at least five measured posts. Until then, sector default times are shown under a separate heading and marked as not measured.
How is this different from social media automation?
The content calendar is where you build and track the plan. Social media automation produces content end to end and places it in this calendar; both use the same records.
Can I stop publishing in an emergency?
Yes. The "Pause publishing" button on the calendar's Publishing settings card holds every scheduled post for the brand; posts stay on the calendar. When you resume, posts whose time has passed don't go out automatically; they come back to you for approval. The account owner and team members with publishing permission can use it.
Are UTM tags added to my links?
Only if you turn them on. With the switch on, when a scheduled post is published, links to your own domain get utm_source (the platform), utm_medium=social and utm_campaign (the name you set). Links that already carry UTM and links to other sites are left alone; the text saved on the calendar doesn't change.
