Reputation management servicesHow trend monitoring works on this screen
Monitoring trends by hand means hopping between tabs and guessing which topic touches your brand. This screen pulls the same signals into one list and ranks them against your brand's own content themes.
- 1Signals collected
Active sources are queried for your brand's country and industry.
- 2Scored for your brand
Each signal is measured on four dimensions; unmeasured ones stay out.
- 3Shelved
Rising, opportunity, competitor, brand mention, risk or news.
- 4Why it matters
The reason comes from the numbers: growth, fit, content gap, freshness.
- 5Act
Create a production plan, add it to the pool or watch the topic.
Where the signals come from
| Source | What it brings | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Google Trends | The day's top searches in your country, with approximate traffic | Always on |
| Hot posts from the country's community | Always on | |
| National news feeds | Latest headlines from news sites | Always on |
| YouTube trends, a news service, breakout trends, competitor ad archives | Signals from video, news and ads | Switched on when connected on the platform |
The sources panel shows how many sources are active and how many signals each one sent. A source that is not connected is marked “not connected”; it never appears as if it had sent signals.
The importance score has four dimensions
- Brand fit (weight 40): how far the signal overlaps with your brand's content themes, taken from your brand profile and Search Console queries.
- Trend strength (weight 30): growth percentage first, then search volume, then the signal's rank in its source.
- Content opportunity (weight 20): high when you have not yet covered the theme in your content pool, blog or scheduled posts.
- Freshness (weight 10): full marks in the first 3 hours, 70 at 24 hours, 40 at 72 hours; anything older than a week stays at 5.
If Search Console is not connected and the brand has no content yet, brand fit and content opportunity can stay empty. In that case the ranking leans mostly on trend strength and freshness.
Signal shelves, from rising topics to risk
| Shelf | When |
|---|---|
| Rising | The topic's growth is 20% or more |
| Content opportunity | The content opportunity dimension is 70 or more |
| Competitor | The signal came from a competitor ad archive |
| Brand mention | Your brand name appears in the signal |
| Risk | Your brand name appears next to a negative term such as complaint, lawsuit or boycott |
| Industry news | The signal came from a news source |
Three ways to turn a signal into content
- Create a production plan: the first-3-second hook, script, call to action, caption, hashtags, goal, emotion, suggested time, platform, format and a visual hint arrive in one window.
- Add to pool: the signal lands in your content pool as an idea to produce later.
- Watch: the topic is added to the trend watcher and marked “Watching” in the list. The watcher measures its search volume once a day and sends a panel notification when the change crosses the default 30% threshold.
From the plan window, “Add to calendar” takes you to the content calendar. For seasonal moments, our three-week countdown article covers when to start preparing.
Who it suits, and where it stops
- Content teams that scan several sources for topics every morning.
- Agencies looking for topics for several brands; the score is calculated against each brand's own themes.
- The list is pulled when you open the screen and when you press Refresh. Alerts arrive on their own only for topics you watch: the trend watcher measures them once a day.
- For longer-term trends and market reading, see trend analysis.

Frequently asked questions
How do you monitor trends?
Pick the sources to watch, then filter what comes in by how well it fits your brand. This screen pulls Google Trends, Reddit and news feeds into one list and ranks each topic with a 0-100 importance score for your brand.
Which sources do the signals come from?
Google Trends, Reddit and national news feeds are always on. Sources such as YouTube trends, a news service and competitor ad archives join the list once they are connected on the platform.
How is the importance score calculated?
Brand fit carries a weight of 40, trend strength 30, content opportunity 20 and freshness 10. A dimension that cannot be measured stays out and the remaining weights are rescaled.
What does “not measured” on a card mean?
There is no data for that dimension; it is not a zero. Brand fit, for example, fills in once Search Console is connected or as you publish content.
What does the risk shelf show?
Signals where your brand name appears next to a negative term such as complaint, lawsuit or boycott. Industry news that does not name your brand is not counted as risk.
When does the signal list refresh?
The list is pulled when you open the screen; press Refresh to pull it again at any time. When the source gives a timestamp, the card shows how long ago the signal came in.
Which plan includes agenda signals?
The agenda signals screen needs the Brand Monitoring & Intelligence add-on. Add-ons and prices are listed on the pricing page.
