The screen picks the two platforms that fit your brand out of six, with format and test budget. A five-check readiness score comes first, then approval.

Facebook ads agencyWhat automated ads asks you for
- Goal: sales, lead generation, traffic or awareness.
- Monthly budget: the suggested daily test budgets are worked out from it.
- Product (optional): if you pick one, its selling price and cost go into the margin check.
The brand's setup type, its industry and the product's price are also taken into account. An export-focused brand sees LinkedIn rise, for example, while an e-commerce brand sees Instagram and TikTok come first.
Five checks before a campaign goes live
The costliest mistake isn't a weak strategy; it's a campaign nobody can measure. A campaign launched while the pixel is broken spends the budget and teaches you nothing about which ad worked. That's why the readiness score comes before the strategy.
Weights come from the same source as the readiness check on screen and add up to 100. A check that can't be read is dropped from the weighting rather than scored as zero.
| Check | Passes | Counts as missing |
|---|---|---|
| Measurement | Events arrived in the last 24 hours | No pixel or server event set up |
| Creative | At least 3 usable creatives in at least 2 formats | Fewer than 3 usable creatives |
| Margin | 40% or more | Below 25% |
| Conversion history | 50 or more measured conversions | Never missing; at most a warning |
| Budget | Covers 50 conversions a week at your measured CPA | Covers less than half of that |
Values in between count as warnings. The verdict looks at the checks, not the score: if any check is missing, the result is "Don't launch yet".
Break-even ROAS and what your budget covers
Break-even ROAS tells you how much revenue each unit of ad spend must bring back so the ad doesn't lose money. It's 100 divided by your margin percentage: plain arithmetic, not a forecast.
- Expected monthly conversions are your monthly budget divided by the CPA measured in your account.
- Expected revenue is calculated only when a measured average order value exists.
- With no measured CPA, the screen shows no number and says it will fill in once the first campaign produces data.
Every industry sells along a different path, so one conversion definition doesn't fit all (one funnel doesn't fit every business). If the measurement check is red, set up conversion tracking first.
Platform, format and test budget suggestion
| Platform | Suggested format |
|---|---|
| 9:16 Reels for sales, Stories for awareness, carousel otherwise | |
| Single image for leads, carousel for sales, square video otherwise | |
| TikTok | 9:16 vertical video |
| Single image for leads, carousel otherwise | |
| Google Performance Max | Collection |
| YouTube | 16:9 landscape video |
- Each suggestion lists the platform, format, daily test budget and a 7-day test period.
- The audience summary covers age range, interests and locations.
- Each format comes with ad copy and a visual brief to produce the creative from.
On the Google side the suggestion is a Performance Max campaign; Google's about Performance Max campaigns page explains how that campaign type works.
From suggestion to campaign: approval and what comes next
- 1Pick inputs
Goal, monthly budget and, optionally, a product.
- 2Read readiness
Five checks and a "Ready to launch", "Needs attention" or "Don't launch yet" verdict.
- 3Build strategy
Two platforms, formats, test budgets and creative briefs.
- 4Send for approval
The suggestion joins the approval queue; nothing changes until it's approved.
- 5Approve
A Facebook or Instagram suggestion opens on Meta as a paused campaign; spend starts when you switch it on.
- 6Manage with rules
Live campaigns are watched by ad automation rules.
To grow a live campaign's budget or pause an expensive one, use ad automation rules. With no rules set, campaigns don't scale on their own; you manage the budget.

| Automated ads | Ad automation | |
|---|---|---|

| Changes to your account | Only after approval | By rule, with an optional approval mode |
| Data it looks at | Brand, product, margin, measured CPA | Campaign metrics for the period you choose |
Frequently asked questions
What does automated ads do?
It suggests the two best-fitting ad platforms for your goal, monthly budget and brand. Each suggestion comes with a format, daily test budget, 7-day test period, audience summary and creative brief.
Which platforms does it choose from?
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google Performance Max and YouTube. The two with the highest score are suggested.
How is the budget split?
The monthly budget is turned into a daily figure; 60% goes to the first platform and 40% to the second as test budget.
What does the readiness score check?
Whether measurement works, whether you have enough creative, the product margin, past conversion count and whether the budget covers 50 conversions a week.
Why are some numbers blank?
The screen only calculates with values measured in your account. Without a measured CPA or order value it uses no industry average; it leaves the field blank and says why.
How is break-even ROAS calculated?
100 divided by the product's margin percentage. At a 40% margin, each $1 of ad spend must bring back at least $2.50. Without a product cost, it isn't calculated.
Does a suggestion go live on its own?
No. You send it to the approval queue, and nothing changes in your ad account without an approval record.
What happens when I approve?
A Facebook or Instagram suggestion opens in your Meta ad account as a paused campaign, ad set and ad; spend starts when you switch it on. TikTok, LinkedIn, Google and YouTube suggestions aren't opened automatically, you set up the campaign on that platform yourself.
Does it produce the creative too?
It gives ad copy and a visual brief for each format. If you're short on creative, the creative link in the readiness panel takes you to the production screen.
How is it different from ad automation?
Automated ads plans a new campaign. Ad automation manages live campaigns with rules; you use the two together.

The automated ads screen needs the Enterprise, E-commerce Premium, Plus Pro or Network / MCN plan (or a plan above one of them in the same family) and the E-Commerce Plus add-on (included in E-Commerce Plus plans). The brand's setup model must be E-commerce · Local Market, E-commerce+ · Cross-border or B2B · Manufacturer / Exporter. Compare plans on the pricing page.
